Natalie H. Haywood, Esq.
Natalie is a fifth-generation Phoenician-a St. Mary's High School Alum-with even longer roots in the Sonoran desert. She studied law at the James E. Rogers College of Law at The University of Arizona where she was the Inaugural Recipient of the S. Thomas Chandler Public Service Award and the Andy Silverman Community Service Award, in recognition of her commitment to the Tucson community. She is active in Miracle en el Barrio and school board.
After she graduated she worked for the Southern Arizona People's Law Clinic and clerked for the Honorable Edgar B. Acuña, the Presiding Criminal Judge in Pima County Superior Court. In 2002 she accepted a position as a trial lawyer at the Pima County Public Defender's Office, where she represented indigent defendants in misdemeanor and felony matters in the Pima County Justice and Superior Courts. She handled serious felonies, including aggravated DUI's, drug trafficking conspiracies, burglaries, aggravated assaults and sexual assaults.
In 2005, she entered the private sector and now primarily focuses on the defense of undocumented persons accused of crimes in the federal system, focusing on immigration-related offenses, drug trafficking and human smuggling.
